INTRODUCING THE NEW
PRO MOBILE AWARDS
At the first Conference in 2013, we introduced the Pro Mobile Lifetime Achievement Award to honour members of the mobile DJ industry who have had a substantial impact on the profession. The initial recipient was DJ trainer and advocate Derek Pengelly, and since then Andy Tain, Roger Squire and Mark Walsh have also been honoured with the award. To acknowledge the fact that this award is intended to recognise those who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry during their career so far, regardless of age, for 2018 we have decided to rename it as the ‘Pro Mobile Living Legend Award’.
In 2016 we also launched the Pro Mobile Gear of the Year poll to recognise innovation in the sound and lighting equipment used by mobile DJs. Voted for by readers of the magazine, the awards celebrate the new mobile DJ equipment debuted over the past year. For 2018, Gear of the Year will be expanded to include multiple categories of equipment to fully reflect the diverse kit used by modern mobile DJs.
At the 2018 Conference the Living Legend Award and Gear of the Year will be combined to form the Pro Mobile Awards. Presented live during the Sunday evening Gala Dinner, the awards will bring a touch of glitz and glamour to the Conference, but don’t worry… we’ll keep gushing acceptance speeches short!
